OUR MISSION
Building communities. Amplifying voices. Promoting equality.
Madaniya is a Sudanese non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 2018 by a dedicated group of women activists. Our mission is to empower women and youth in Sudan and the Sudanese diaspora, ensuring their active participation in their communities and in policy-making processes.
Since our inception, we have collaborated with a diverse array of partners and donors, including EU and UN grantees. We have implemented numerous projects and initiatives aimed at promoting equal rights for women and youth. Our efforts focus on enhancing their social, political, economic, and cultural capacities, enabling them to play a vital role in the Sudanese community, both locally and globally.
OUR WORK
Through our initiatives, we strive to create lasting change and empower individuals to lead and inspire within their communities. Our projects include:
Our project Musawah (Arabic for ‘equality’) focused on combatting gender based violence, sexual harassment and gender discrimination in the Sudanese legal system.
The project Da’am (Arabic for ‘support’) revolved around the safety and security of women human rights defenders in Sudan in the context of the aftermath of the military coup that took place after Sudan’s revolution.
